The New Mexico Attorney General confirmed the opening of a
criminal investigation related to the well-known “Zorro” Ranch, a property
associated with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, who for years was at the
center of numerous accusations of sex crimes and involvement in child abuse
networks.
The investigation seeks to clarify possible illicit
activities that allegedly occurred on the property located in New Mexico, a
site that has long been mentioned in various testimonies and legal proceedings
related to the Epstein case.
According to state authorities, the investigation aims to
determine whether crimes related to human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or
other criminal conduct that has not yet been fully clarified by federal
authorities may have been committed on the ranch.
The property, popularly known as “Zorro Ranch,” has been the
subject of public attention since several victims and news reports mentioned
the location as one of the places frequented by Epstein and some of his
associates. Despite previous investigations conducted in other states and at
the federal level, New Mexico authorities are now seeking to review additional
information and potential liabilities within their jurisdiction.
The state attorney general's office indicated that the goal
is to ensure that any potential crimes are thoroughly investigated and that no
legal issues related to the operations and activities carried out on the
property remain unresolved.
The Jeffrey Epstein case continues to generate repercussions
years after his death, due to the magnitude of the accusations and the
political, business, and social connections that surrounded the financier. The
reopening of lines of investigation in various jurisdictions reflects the
authorities' interest in clarifying aspects that remain under public and legal
scrutiny.
