Two months
after its launch, Operation New Dawn has begun to show significant results in
terms of security and child protection. According to information released by
the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), during the first 60 days of the
operation, 305 people allegedly linked to various criminal activities were
arrested, and 24 children who had been reported missing were located.
Authorities
stated that this deployment is part of a coordinated strategy to combat various
high-impact crimes, strengthen search efforts for missing persons, and
dismantle criminal networks that pose a threat to public safety.
According to
the preliminary report, the arrests resulted from operations carried out in
different jurisdictions, where federal agents worked jointly with state and
local law enforcement agencies to execute arrest warrants and conduct
investigations.
One of the
most significant results of the operation was the discovery of 24 minors whose
disappearance had been previously reported. The FBI emphasized that locating
these children is a top priority of the operation, as it seeks to safeguard the
well-being of the victims and facilitate their reunification with their
families when legal and protective circumstances allow.
While
authorities have not released specific details about the cases or the charges
against those arrested, they indicated that the investigations are ongoing and
that Operation New Dawn will continue with the goal of identifying more
perpetrators, rescuing potential victims, and strengthening efforts to combat
organized crime.
The FBI
stressed that the results obtained during this first phase reflect the
importance of collaboration among the various law enforcement and security
agencies to confront complex criminal phenomena and provide greater protection
to the population, especially children and adolescents at risk.
