US President
Donald Trump stated that the chances of reaching an understanding between
Russia and Ukraine have increased after what he described as a "good
conversation" with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During
remarks to the press, Trump expressed his optimism about the direction of the
negotiations and noted that, in his view, Moscow is showing a greater
willingness to move toward an agreement that will help end the conflict.
Although he did not reveal specific details about the content of the dialogue,
he maintained that the exchange was constructive and allowed them to address
various issues related to the situation in Eastern Europe.
The US
president indicated that diplomatic talks are continuing and expressed his
confidence that the parties involved can find common ground that will
facilitate a negotiated solution. In that context, he reiterated that direct
dialogue between leaders and diplomatic channels are fundamental elements for
reducing tensions and bringing positions closer together.
Trump's
statements come at a time when the international community is closely
monitoring the evolving conflict and efforts to achieve a ceasefire or an
agreement that would pave the way for lasting peace. Various governments and
international organizations have stressed the need to prioritize diplomacy to
prevent a further escalation of hostilities.
