Protest Called at the Port of Algeciras Against Irregular Immigration

SPAIN – Groups identified with nationalist and anti-immigration movements called for a protest near the Port of Algeciras to express their rejection of irregular immigration and demand greater control of Spain's borders.

Through social media, the organizers called on supporters from various European countries and Spanish citizens to join the demonstration, arguing that they seek to pressure authorities to strengthen immigration and border security policies.

So far, authorities have not confirmed that the port has been blocked or that port operations have been suspended as a result of the protest. The demonstration is taking place against a backdrop of intense political debate on immigration and border management in Spain and the rest of Europe.
