Washington, D.C. — The plane carrying U.S. Secretary of
Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin was forced to make an emergency landing
after experiencing an engine failure.
The aircraft was en route to the Washington area when the
technical problem occurred, and the crew took the necessary steps to land
safely at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Despite the failure, the plane landed without further
incident, and no problems were reported during the landing.
The incident garnered attention because the head of the
Department of Homeland Security, a key U.S. government agency responsible for
border security, immigration, and national security, among other things, was on
board.
