Costa Rica cancels massive events and orders telework due to COVID-19.



The Government of Costa Rica ordered this Monday to apply telework in the positions that are possible, as well as the cancellation of massive events such as concerts, in order to reduce the risk of contagion of the new coronavirus COVID-19, for which there are 9 cases. Confirmed in the country.

The government's order is for at least the next two weeks, which means the cancellation of events such as the concert of the legendary rock band Guns N 'Roses, scheduled for March 18, as well as the motorcycle stunt event X -Knights.
As for telecommuting, President Carlos Alvarado said that the order to public institutions is to send telecommuting to people whose functions can be performed remotely, and the private company is urged to do the same.

The President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado, announced the measures at a press conference with his Health Minister, Daniel Salas; the Minister of Economy, Industry and Commerce, Victoria Hernández; that of Labor, Giannina Dinarte, among other officials.
