Everything seems to indicate that the governor of New York,
Andrew Cuomo, could beat the governor of California, Gavin Newsome, in leaving
office. For now, legislators of both colors have come together to ask for his
resignation.
The ground below the questioned Cuomo is moving like never
before. And it is that the legislators on both sides of the aisle are already
asking for his resignation.
Earlier this week, at least half a dozen Democratic
Socialist state senators wrote a letter urging lawmakers to begin impeachment
proceedings. This comes in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment against
Cuomo by three former employees.
Lawmakers accuse Cuomo of using his office to
"belittle, intimidate and harass his employees and colleagues."
They have also said that the Democratic governor will be
held accountable, noting that he cannot just walk away from the accusations.
"This very clearly reflects a hostile work environment
and is certainly not the behavior of someone who should hold our highest office
in New York State," said State Senator Alessandra Biaggi (D).
