Washington—President Donald Trump intensified his political rhetoric ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, asserting that the United States should be in the hands of those who love the country.
During his participation in the first Republican Midterm
Convention, held in Dallas, Texas, Trump declared: “America does not belong to
those who hate it. America belongs to those who love it.”
The statement was part of a speech in which the president
called on Republicans to maintain unity and mobilize their base for the
November legislative elections.
Trump also directed criticism at Democrats, whom he accused
of not addressing issues related to security, immigration, and living
conditions in various American cities.
The message came at a time when the president has assumed a
central role in the Republican strategy for the midterm elections. On October
1st, he began an intense political tour of Texas and Oklahoma to support
Republican congressional candidates.
The midterm elections will be crucial in determining the
composition of the U.S. Congress, and Trump has made his strong presence and
key policies central to the Republican mobilization.
With his message, the president seeks to frame the elections
as a contest about the direction the United States should take and to call on
his millions of supporters to actively participate in the vote.
