Central American airlines take measures against the spread of coronavirus




Central America's major airlines announced a series of measures to cope with the potential impact of the worldwide spread of the coronavirus, which has so far infected more than 119,000 people in dozens of countries and left 4,300 dead.

Panamanian Copa Airlines also announced a relaxation plan in its policies to stop charging fees for tickets purchased during March, in addition to additional sanitation measures in its units.

Mexico's Interjet, meanwhile, said it was making adjustments to its commercial strategy to deal with the reduction in demand that may arise due to the new strain that emerged in China, although it did not offer further details of the measures.
The firm, which flies to a dozen countries on the American continent, including the United States, Colombia and Costa Rica - which have confirmed cases - also said that it tightened its cleaning and disinfection protocols in its ships and reinforced "coordination with authorities ”airport and health.
