WASHINGTON - US President Joe Biden now wants another $ 2
trillion for a nationwide infrastructure plan and expects corporations to pay
for the project, through the highest tax hike in 30 years.
Biden traveled to Pittsburgh on Wednesday afternoon to
promote his controversial plan, highly criticized by experts and the Republican
wing in both Houses.
The first phase of its "Build Back Better" program
involves investments that would span eight years and would be financed by an
increase in corporate income tax from the current 21% to 28%.
Economists say that a sharp rise in taxes on large and
medium-sized companies translates into an increase in the entire supply chain
and finally in a price increase that triggers inflation in the country, which
is already 1.6%.
