The president of the French Hospital Federation, Frédéric
Valletoux, in an interview with LCI television acknowledged that he was uneasy.
"The numbers are exploding and increasing at breakneck speed. We are
reaching the resuscitation bed occupancy that we had at the peak last fall
(September-October 2020)."
"Except that at that time it had been 15 days since
strong restraint measures had been adopted. Today we are the same but with a
confinement that is not such," claimed the mayor of the city of
Fontainebleau.
"A confinement is when one stays at home, going out is
the exception."
According to Valletoux, French hospitals "risk
receiving, within 15 days, a wave of unprecedented violence." In his
opinion, it will be more difficult than last year because "fewer patient
transfers are made, and there will be no reinforcements because all French
hospitals are busy," he told LCI.
